Background:
Bertha Ramos received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Long Beach California State University, Long Beach, Ca. During her undergraduate studies she was involved in the VOICES Discovery program through the counseling department as a group facilitator in bringing topics of race, discrimination, stereotypes, and bias among various cultural groups. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she worked full-time as a Case Manager for transitional youth group with severely emotional disturbance in a community based program in Covina, as a Case Manager for children and adolescents at an outpatient program, and an in-home counselor in a family preservation program in Cerritos.
Bertha received her Masters of Social Work degree at Long Beach California State University, Long Beach, Ca. During this time she completed her internships at the ACCESS school-based program in the Orange County School district as a school counselor for adolescents, and as a medical social worker in the Nephrology department to children/adults at Kaiser Permanente. After receiving her Masters Degree in 2005, she has had experience working in several mental health agencies and a psychiatric hospital in positions providing Child & family therapy, Group Therapy, Crisis counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. For the past three years, she has been a director for an adult partial hospitalization program and is currently providing clinical supervision to MSWs and MFTs. She has been certified in Parent Child Interactive Therapy to provide treatment to children, ages 2-7 with challenging behavioral problems.
Outside of work, Bertha enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, hiking, working out, watching documentary and independent films, attending community activities, volunteering, and being connected to the National Association of Social Work.
